S2 Ep30: How to Receive Feedback on Your Writing

Season #2 Episode #30

As an author, getting feedback on your writing is arguably one of the hardest things to do. What happens if it’s awful? How can you get the most out of your editorial experience? What if you disagree with your editor or beta reader?

Oh, it’s a tricky one, that's for sure. But I’ve got some advice up my sleeve to help you accept feedback with ease and actually use it to your advantage.

During the episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why mindset matters most - and how to prepare for a feedback session so you’re not stressing yourself out.
  • The types of questions to ask your editor when the time comes - and what you can expect in a feedback session.
  • How to cope if the feedback isn’t what you wanted or expected – and how to move on with confidence.

And so much more!

Feedback is an integral part of writing. Without it, we can’t move forward and make our work better. But that doesn’t always make it easy to hear - and you’re certainly not alone if you feel nervous before your feedback session. Hopefully, this episode will empower you to go into the process confidently.

I hope you enjoy listening!
